MotorCrush cofounder and partner Andy Lally had another stellar weekend at the track.
Following two first place finishes for Andy and co-driver Katherine Legge, the duo took second at this past weekend’s Mobil 1 Sports Car Grand Prix at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in Ontario.
MotorCrush was with Andy every inch of the way, as he wore his helmet freshly adorned with the MotorCrush emblem. The second-place finish was a tribute to the entire Michael Shank Racing Team, as it began to rain on a portion of the track after the final pit stop for the No. 93 Acura NSX GT3, creating a tricky mix of wet and dry conditions. The team made the call to stick with Continental Tire slick tires – and that ended up being the right call.
Afterwards, Andy praised the crew: “Our Acura handled every condition today from hot and greasy to cool to wet to super slippery conditions that nobody wanted to be in out there on slicks. I’m just thrilled.”
The second place finish earned the team valuable points in the GTD championship, and they continue to gain ground on the leaders.
Champagne shower! Three podiums in a row for our @michaelshankracing @acura! Great job by the whole crew and by my teammate @katherineracing today! SUPER sketchy battle on a half wet/ half dry track at the end. It's great to be disappointed with a second place finish but still very proud of this operation. Congrats to @lawsonaracing, #AndrewDavis and all the @stevensonmotorsports guys on a great race!
