IMSA WeaherTech SportsCar Championship Mobil 1 Twelve Hours Of Sebring Presented By Advance Auto Patrs

Watch MotorCrush's Andy Lally and the Magnus Racing team in the No. 44 Lamborghini GT3 Evo on NBC Sports or IMSA TV via the website link. The Magnus team has parted ways with their Audi R8 and have picked up a shiny new Lamborghini. More specifically, a 2019 Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo; it’s the most aggressive car in Lamborghini’s line up and has been tailored for one thing: speed. The Evo is based on the original Huracán GT3, which debuted in 2015. Since then, the car has earned some serious respect on the track, thanks to some championship victories in last year’s Blancpain GT Series Asia and IMSA GT Daytona. For the 2019 GT3 Evo, Lamborghini has improved upon the previous GT3’s aerodynamics to further increase downforce which improves stability and reduces pitch sensitivity (the change in downforce resulting from a change in pitch angle). The new car is based on a hybrid body shell made of carbon fiber reinforced aluminum. To power the car, Lamborghini has sourced the 5.2L V10 from the Huracán Performate road car and modified it to fit within GT3 horsepower regulations. Overall, it may have less power, but it more than compensates for that in weight savings. We are excited to see how to new Evo performs this year compared to its previous generation. And with their new set of wheels, Magnus Racing will be a team to keep your eye on this season. Especially, with Andy and his co-driver John Potter behind the wheel.
