CAR OF THE WEEK

1998 Chevrolet Corvette owned by Kevin Johnson.

Pictured here is a Corvette pace car; one of 1,163 made to commemorate the Corvette’s title as the official pace car of the Indianapolis 500 in 1998. The reproductions are exact replicas of the actual pace car used in the race, with the exception of the strobe lights—They came with an LS1 V8 matted to either a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission.

Kevin’s example came with the 6-speed manual transmission, which accounts for 547 of those produced. To compliment his pace car, Kevin had a go-cart and a custom trailer sporting the same design also made back in 1998. The car only has 11K on the clock and is driven about 200 miles a year, primarily to car shows. Make sure you drop Kevin a like and follow on MotorCrush. And check out his profile as well to see the rest of his awesome garage!

BIO OF THE WEEK

“@4nfoz on ig. This is my first Subaru, but my third JDM car. I was actually looking for a JDM WRX bugeye wagon. Then I saw a picture of an SG9 and fell in love. So I found one in Japan and had it imported. I promptly got to work making it my own with the help of a lot of great people.”

– Matt Ferguson on his 2005 Subaru JDM Forester STI.
